| What is a laser?
A laser is a device that generates an intense beam of light at a specific wavelength. How does a laser work? A CO2 laser uses an invisible beam of light that vaporizes the normal water found in the skin or other soft tissue. Since the Veterinarian can control the laser, only a thin layer of tissue is removed, leaving the surrounding area unaffected. Why you should consider laser surgery? Less Pain- the laser seals nerve endings as it cuts through the skin or tissue. Your pet will feel less pain post-operatively. Less Bleeding- The laser seals small blood vessels during surgery, resulting in less bleeding, better precision and decreased duration of anesthesia. Less swelling- A laser does not crush, tear, or bruise since a laser only uses a beam of light to cut through the skin or tissue. What are the benefits for your pet?
